Welcome to the Town of Lincoln, RI Firefighter and Rescue Association web site. The Town of Lincoln, RI formed a full time 24 hour a day Emergency Medical Service in February of 1980. The founding members decided to join the International Association of Firefighters soon thereafter.
At that time, Rescue 4 out of Station 4, was run 24 hours a day. Rescue 2, out of Station 2, was only staffed for 12 hours, 0700-1900 and by call-men from 1900-0700 hours. In July of 1997 the Town hired 8 more EMT-Cardiac’s to staff Rescue 2 to run 24 hour shifts.
In 2004 Station 4’s (Lonsdale) 4 career firefighters joined our union. Station 2's (Albion) 3 career firefighters joined the union in August of 2005. Station 5's (Saylesville) 3 career firefighters joined in February 2006. Today the Union is 27 active members strong with 5 retired brothers and 1 sister.
We respond to approximately 3,600 runs a year. These runs consist of ALS and BLS medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, fire alarms, structure fires, and numerous other hazards or situations.
The rescues are staffed with a rescue officer and a cardiac level EMT. We also have 3 Paramedics on our staff.
Our rescue trucks are stationed in the Albion and Lonsdale Villages of the town.
"Fill the Boot" Campaign - 2011
The Lincoln, RI
Firefighter and Rescue Association collected monetary donations to support the Muscular Dystophy Association.
Our goal for 2011 was to raise $4,500 for the MDA. We collected at various intersections throughout the town, and placed a collection box inside Cinemaworld at the Lincoln Mall.
Thank you for your support, and for helping us raise over $5,000 to benefit the MDA.
